Sweet beads!

Did you see those gorgeous beads? I got them last week from the Rings&Things Denver bead show! http://www.rings-things.com/

I started  working with the cranberry pearls and crystals today; perhaps an entry in the pearl category for Beadstar 2011? If I do like this and get it done in time, I  may enter. Either way, sweet beads make for a sweet piece!

2 weeks from yesterday will be my last day doing medical reports. I am excited, yet a bit scared; the income has been a safety net for me. Now, I will just have  to see how it goes. Hopefully, this will allow me to focus more on my creative endeavors. I know that I create not for monetary gain, but out of the love of it; I do not want to lose that spirit. I have but a little bit of faith, but know that there is a reason for all of this!

Still honored…

Well, I didn’t make the cut to be in the Beadstar magazine; only the top 5 in each category are considered winners. I; however, feel like a winner just for making it in the finals at all! Did you go on there and look at all of the lovely pieces that were submitted? Really, I know it must seem like I am just saying it, but I am honored.

The three pieces in the pictures for today’s entry were submitted along with a couple of others for another publication. I figured I would make some lemonade!

Thank you all for voting!

Burning the candle at both ends!
I always wondered what that meant exactly; I am getting the picture, nowadays! Everything happens for a reason. If that means that I have to do a million things at the same time, obviously there is a lesson to be learned. Next round of Botox injections is tomorrow; I have a class in the morning, race downtown for painful shots to reduce the tone in my neck and then slog home in the possibly “record breaking” snowfall! Yay!
Check out my “Stroll Through Paris” pendant! I am going to concoct a cool way to string that baby. I teach this technique at beadniks!
Link to my store is coming soon!

Closing Shop:

I have decided to close down the Etsy shop and try other avenues for promoting my jewelry. I have been pondering this for a while now and it really hit home when I was away for the weekend. It is just too crowded for jewelry sellers there…I saw a post in the forums today that stated there are around 1 million listings for jewelry on Etsy! 1 million! That made me feel a little better about the low sales. My views were good some days, lousy on others. Thankfully, I have had sales outside of Etsy or I would be soooo depressed!

For the present time, I am selling my shop out at a HUGE discount. Why? Why not? I just love making people happy. So take advantage of my present good nature and see what you may like.

beadsoul will return in a better place or not- it is really not a worry. I love to create and if it happens, it happens.

It is amazing; when I gave up worrying about the shop, I got a call from a former coworker asking me to make a gift for a common friend. God is good!

Fun stuff: My trip to Wyoming was a nice, whirlwind tour. We spent 12 hours in the car to stay for about 20 hours. It was nice to see everyone and our youngest daughter is now a Godmother! She loved seeing her new cousin/Godchild, as well as her favorite cousin, Alyssa. I will try to post a pic or two whenever the kid gets them uploaded on the computer.

I do have to admit that I am the biggest city girl ever. It blows my mind to be in a small town with nothing to do, no bead stores to shop, etc. It was very hard to not be on the computer for 2 whole days either. I suppose I could have asked my sister to get online, but I was there to see them, not to shop Etsy, check my email, or blog, etc. Spoiled rotten is what I am!!!!

Hello and Happy Monday! As you can see, I am trying to amend my night-owl ways. Life is somewhat back to normal here as my husband is back to work after 5 weeks off; no more staying up all night! I believe this is the first post I have made while it is still daylight!
I am trying to find some beading time today- it is looking like it will be an evening for beads. It is quite chilly here in Colorado, 15 degrees for the high, which makes it perfect for staying in with some colorful stuff. Perhaps I will make something with these beautiful pearls I found last week!
Have a great, God-bless day!

Just a quick hi to you all…I have been working on some altered art pendants for Valentine’s day. I hope to have some of them up and running tomorrow. I also wanted to show you this really cool agate that I found on Tuesday. You just knew I couldn’t keep out of the bead shops for too long, didn’t you?
Have a blessed night/day!
