Hurry up and wait!

Okay, now the beadstar voting is done; now I get to wait and see if I made it into the top 5. If so, I will be a beadstar! (Also, I will be in the ICU due to a heart-attack!) Yesterday was dystonia awareness day and I didn’t even know it! I tweeted about my jacked-up left hand and arm and received a flood of tweets from all of my dystonia contacts to tweet about awareness day. Leave it to me to be clueless! I did retweet a few interesting facts and how I survived a challenging dystonic day, just the same.

Nobody wants to hear a whiner- that is my excuse for why I have not been blogging. Everything is okay, but the dystonia has been pretty intense for the last several weeks. If there was a magic formula for figuring out what makes it go nuts, I would be all over it! I had a trunk show on the 13th- it was so fun to have friends over who love my work and to get feedback from them. I know that it is always a help to see what people love. I always learn from my patrons. Teaching at Beadniks has been going okay. Now is not the time to expect a lot of students, but it has been fun just the same. I have two signed up for the Ring Rage class tomorrow, and I am excited about that. I love making funky cocktail rings, as you can see from the picture! I would say that I am going to be a better blogger, but I have no idea if that would be true. Twitter is pretty nice as it takes just a second. Maybe you see my little blurbs on there? This is my brain on day 4 of the crud! Actually, I am feeling much better, just kinda like a limp noodle rather than roadkill. I tell you what, I am not one to lay in bed all the time, but I sure did that all weekend. When I wasn’t sleeping I was reading or getting ready to go back to sleep; obviously I was a sick pup! I feel like the world passed me by, which I know is not true. I guess I am kind of addicted to the forums on Etsy, twitter and blogging. I didn’t even mention the withdrawal I had not being able to make anything! I will get back in the saddle tomorrow. I have some fun projects in the works and can’t wait to finish them! May all your days be flu-free!

So I totally jacked up my settings on here and lost my twitter feed and my Etsy mini listing. I am not in the mood to figure out the html right now and will work on it tomorrow. I am still having a big sale in my shop… check out the bargains!  http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=6578181 I am almost ready to take the plunge with a website. I feel so wise after the first website debacle. I want to use the domain beadsoul.com and have to figure out what to do since this blog is that domain. Lucky for me, I have a 20-year-old tech boy in my house! I will keep you posted on the latest. The pendant pictured is fun. It has a coffee-achiever guy on one side and the image you see on the other. It is one square inch and soldered with lead free silver solder. I am making some custom pendants for a fellow Etsyian. I will let you know how they turn out soon. Tomorrow is haircut/color for a friend and hopefully beginning the soldering project. I have some transcribing to do, so we shall see…

Peer pressure

You know who I am talking about- the kid who tried so hard to fit in at school and just couldn’t, no matter what. The kid gave his/her friends the good stuff out of their lunch, gave up the good seat on the schoolbus, (the back one of course); you know the type.  Well, that was me. I didn’t sucumb to too much peer pressure, but wanted to be cool.

I guess I am still that little kid…I just did it. I had to do it to be cool, to make people think I was not too awkward. How silly, but I had to try to fit in, I did it. I joined Twitter!

If my kids knew, they would die of mortification. Those of you who may look at this, don’t you dare tell! I am the most uncool Mom in the universe- and this would just prove it!!!!

So if you want to hear about what I ate on any given day, (guess what, it will probably involve oatmeal), or what song I am listening to, (my daughter keeps using my Ipod so who knows), or if I think that navy is the new black, (or is it brown?) just keep looking for my tweets!
